31st May 2011 - Sign Up, Stay Informed, Get Restaurant Vouchers

This May 2011 Half Term break means many things. To some it means the real start of summer weather - although many of us are still waiting with the doom and gloom forecase predicted after the end of each new bulletin - but, digressing aside, to parents it means one thing; keeping the children entertained, occupied and active for the next week.

Yes gasps and sighs are still echoing around the corriders of UK. Is it possible? Well it is. Surprisingly enough there are still lots of great free days out to be had up and down the country. Museums are a great place for those with children who have a healthy thirst for knowledge - but those of you who have children that would much prefer to tear up the turf in the back garden with a ball, there are tons of country parks around. Great places to take picnics and many now having onsite facilities for those sneaky ice creams.

At the end of the day chances are cooking and washing up looks about as appealing as the weeks accumulated ironing pile - perhaps even less so - but of course counting pennies is also a must. It may surprise you how many restaurants are giving away freebies, and restaurant vouchers, just be signing up to newsletters; giving feedback on staff, food and service or even joining Twitter and Facebook campaigns.

The recent Pizza Hut article in the Blackpool Gazette gives you an insight. Paula Rigby, the restaurants manager, does says that they have a feedback service which gives 2 for 1 discount vouchers. Not bad for sharing your comments and views and let's face it you do that each time you give a recommendation or tweet on something you have enjoyed.

Put together a list of your favourite restaurants. Visit their website; Twitter and Facebook fan pages. Subscribe to their social media channels and their newsletter. You can always add these to a second email address (Yahoo or MSN for instance) to keep any marketing messages separate to your own email account but it's a fantastic way to keep up with offers, discounts and restaurant vouchers your favourite restaurant are offering.....and in many caes you'll also be the first to know!

This May Half Term sign up, wise up and see how much you're offered to save!

19th May 2011 - We've now gone social, check us out on Twitter!

That's right, not content on just having a website we've become greedy and now have a Twitter page too. Frankly we are quite new to Twitter but it seems like a great place to let even more people know how they can save money on eating out with restaurant vouchers

We've already built up a very small following but we'd like to have more. If you have tweeted, twooted or twittered for a while, or have a regular account and tweet every minute of every day get on over and check us out.

We add restaurant vouchers and links to good restaurants, plus the odd 'what we're doing now' and what we'd like to be doing instead!

9th May 2011 - Don't Want It, Sell It

Although an article from across the pond, it has made us think of another way that you could not only earn more but also help someone else in the process. USA Today have a feature on selling your vouchers , they probably are refering to vouchers and discount codes in general but of course in some cases it will work just the same for restaurant vouchers

I myself recently came across a case recently when I knew some vouchers existed for a popular retailer which would save me around £30 on the purchase I wanted to make, but I couldn't find the voucher I had. I searched online and managed to find what I was looking for but also made me think - if even if I paid £15 for such a voucher I'd still be £15 better off.

It's worth a read at the very least!

2nd May 2011 - Get Your Coat On - Noma in Denmark Here we Come!

We've seen Eurovision, Miss World and even X Factor but none have a patch on the World's Best Restaurant awards. If you're a restauranteer being shortlisted is like an actor being shortlisted for an Oscar. It really is the creme de la creme.

The 2011 World's Best Restaurant has been announced and it's the Noma Restaurant in Denmark. Yes, if you want the best cuisine in the entire World it's time to grab your coat, book a flight or cruise to Denmark and enjoy the Noma - althoug as expected there's a long waiting list and they very politely say they are not taking any bookings at present.

Now wait a minute, there must have been at least ONE British restaurant in to the Top 10. Well there certainly is. Half way down the list in 5th place is the aptly named The Fat Duck restarant owned by TV Chef Heston Blumenthal in Berkshire (slightly closer than the Nordics). Now unfortunately we did search but alas no restaurant vouchers in sight from Mr Blumenthal.....still Pizza Hut didn't let us down and their Kids Eat Free Pizza Deal still continues well in to 2011. Simply buy any adult meal and a child will receive a small pizza, small salad bowl and a drink for FREE!

If you're intrigued as to the 2011 restaurant awards winners and feature check out The Independent's editorial and 2011 World Restaurant Winners

20th April 2011 - Restaurant Vouchers: There's an App for That!

If you've watched the adverts on TV you'd be surprised if there was something you couldn't actually do with an app. There's an app for everything although I am still awaiting for someone to release an app to make us all a cup of tea in the morning just before we get on the hunt for some cracking restaurant voucher codes and downloads.

Although despite my disappointment at the tea making app, or lack of it, you can now search for and find discounts for restaurants whilst actually sitting at the table of the restaurant itself about to order! Just grab your app enabled phone (iPhone or anything with an Android operating system) and you could actually find and use your restaurant voucher right then and there. What could be easier - or more lazy :)

More details available at MoneyHighStreet.com

Don't forget though if you like a bargain and want to get your hands on some freebies and free stuff why not pay a visit to our friends (and sister site) and see what you can get for nowt - there's lots of freebies uk on offer

9th April 2011 - The £2.5billion discount voucher

The power of the online pound has really gone to show just how valuable and how many users online up and down the country are treading carefully with every pound - and quite right too. At last we have a voice, we as a nation have spoke out in force by allowing the might of competition drive consistent value for our pennies. Now when we want to buy something we can check the prices online to see who has the bets price, who is offering discount codes and vouchers on the products we need - it's great for retailers to bid for your custom, but even better for us.

According to a recent save money survey in 2010 the UK population traded in 87million discount vouchers (at a rate of 2.4million a day or 27 every second!). This saved us as a whole £2.4BILLION. With more and more new businesses increasing their online presence and more new retailers entering the market and competing keep checking online at places like Restaurant Vouchers for the best way to save your £££

29th March 2011 - Who said romance is dead - voucher codes rule!

Now women of today may think that men are unromantic and selfish and in the main they probably have a point. It may interest women to know that it appears - based on a recent article in The Telegraph - that there is still an air of gentlemenly conduct going on within these shores. Yes men still offer to pay for their restaurant meal on the first date.

Great news. How romantic, the gentlement brushes the hand of his date thanking her for a nice evening and calls the maitre de over and requests the bill. Along comes the leather wallet which contains the cost of their wonderful and magic evening together. Without hesitation the man forces at speed his hand to his pocket to reach for his wallet - a clear indication that he intends to settle the bill.

Out comes the card which is placed neatly on the leather wallet, positioned close to the edge of the table for maitre de to notice on his rounds. Just as the lady is about to suggest the location for their second date the man swiftly, and perhaps more swiftly than the reach for his wallet, reaches to his top pocket where out comes a very crisp printed restaurant voucher entitling his date to eat free with his paying meal. The man smiles delicately at the lady - as she is now planning how to leave by the window in the ladies loo.

Restaurant vouchers have their uses and we are their biggest fan - but even we believe there's a time and a place :)

21st March 2011 - When the best get reviewed

We see top celebrity chefs on the television all the time. Usually they are preparing an immaculate, mouth watering dish so effortlessly and without sweat, making the whole task look so easy. Then of course you try and replicate in your own kitchen only to resemble the end of the opening day of a Primark store at closing time.

You can imagine the chef drifting away in their chauffeur driven Mercedes and Bentleys back to their swanky West End restaurant to magic up a few posh dishes with one hand tied behind their back and then have time to have a few drinks in a trendy wine bar before last orders.

Then again sometimes these celebrity chefs actually are reviewed themselves. Take Heston Blumenthal at the Mandarin Oriental. Was Zoe Williams from the Telegraph impressed or less than tempted with the delights of Heston?

Find out by checking out the Heston Blumenthal review

Also the newspapers are certainly playing their part in helping us save money on restaurants and buying stuff in general. The Bargain Hunter from The Telegraph sure has the right idea

4th February 2011 - Forget the fees, fill up with free food

Like everyone else on the planet, students need to eat, in fact most students tend to need more body fuel than most other people. There are plenty of restaurants and takeaways with two for one offers right now. Just for a minute forget about the rise in university fees and get fed for free, or at least for half price. Whether you like pizzas, burgers, subs or a roast dinner, take a look at which outlets are offering restaurant vouchers. Why pay University canteen prices when you can halve the price of a meal somewhere else? Enjoy the free food that’s on offer while you study.

21st January 2011 - When It’s Your Turn to Eat for Free

Job losses and rising VAT has meant that people are cutting back on eating out, but you don’t have to spend a packet when you don’t feel like cooking. Many restaurants and fast food places recognise the dilemma that most of us are in and they are willing to help with two for one offers and cut price meals. If you know that there are deals to be had at your friend’s favourite restaurant, then why not tag along when she goes for lunch. If you treated her last time you went out then this time it’s your turn to eat for free! :)

2nd December 2010 - Where do you fancy eating this December?
It's cold and snowing all across the UK right now but December is a popular month for getting together and enjoying a good meal in a wonderful restaurant.

There are of course more restaurants in the UK to eat in than you coud possibly go to in your lifetime so how do you choose?

You could check out our Restaurant Search on the home page and have a check to see what is around your area....and always a good place to start but of course wherever you go we hope you have some great festive eats out filled with restaurant vouchers and discounts!

25th November 2010 - Really 75% Surge in Restaurant Voucher searching?
If staticians, mathmaticians, astronomers and estate agents are to be believed (yes we chuckled about the last one too) it may be true that people are searching for restaurant vouchers in their thousands each month.

In fact the surge is reported to have increased by 75% or more! That's huge. It's largely attributed, or widely regarded as being attributed, by media and newspaper column inches explaining how restaurant vouchers sites are helping people find discounts and savings eating at a wide range of restaurants.

Social media, online awareness and viral campaigns has meant businesses (and restaurant owners) are fighting over your pounds. Discount vouchers have exploded on the internet over the past few years and people are saving a small fortune online now. One stop places helping you save money for free are becoming the norm - and highly welcomed of course.

Do we see this trend stopping anytime soon - very doubtful - and while restaurants continue to post restaurant vouchers and discounts we'll make sure we bring these straight to you!

11th November 2010 - Restaurant take away food with free app and competition to win a trip to India
Not sure if like us you have seen the number of Just-Eat posters embeded on to the doors and windows of restaurant and take away eateries. Although - of course - we love to spend the night in a good restaurant and find cheaper ways of doing so (it's what we're here for) takeaways have their place.

We like offers, we like free and we love competitions - so just FYI if you check out the Just-Eat website not only can you find details for a free iPOD and iPHONE app but you could also win a trip to India

4th November 2010 - Kids eat free at Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut have extended their 'kids eat free' offer until December and is thoroughly recommended. An adult can simply order what they like - even a small pizza - and a child receives pizza, drink and small (minute really) salad bowl. Have to say with the restaurant vouchers and discounts, and large companies looking at promoting wonderful offers in ad campaigns that rarely amount to much when you enter the doors - this made us pleasently surprised. Well done Pizza Hut!

18th October 2010 - Vouchers and Voucher Codes now one of the most popular searches online
Vouchers, discount vouchers and voucher codes are now some of the most searched for items on the internet and with absolutely good reason.

We are all looking for a bargain, and looking for ways to get the same item only cheaper. The great thing about the blitz of online companies setting up is that competition is fierce. Not so great for the companies selling products, but to keep visitors and customers buying they need to be one step ahead of the rest.

Up steps discount vouchers. These have a great way of encouraging spending and enticing a purchase. For the retailer it means extra or continued custom - for us it means a great deal!

14th October 2010 - Yalla Yalla open new restaurant in London
Oxford Circus in London now has a new resident. The Yalla Yalla restaurant, lebanese restaurant favourite, has now launched in the glitzy capital.

With a range of main dishes from Shish Taouk to Falafal and tempting deserts including Yalla Coco and Mohalabiya it's a welcome retreat in the hustle and bustle of the London's West End or for a pre-appetiser before a theatre visit

6th October 2010 - New Fire and Stone Restaurant Opens
Fire and Stone have recently opened a new restaurant in London Spitalfields Market. Serving fresh pizzas. Dine inside or out and set amongst bars, cafes and designer shops, this a good place to enjoy good food with good company
